Steve KemFirst-year teacher Steve Kem comes to BFCS from Southern Oregon University where he majored in Outdoor Leadership and Environmental Studies. At BFCS, he teaches Natural Resources, Biology, Physical Science, and Physics.

Steve’s classes spend time outdoors working with the U S Forest Service and the Bureau of Land Management. BLM projects include real world data gathering like measuring wildlife, water resources, and recreation. His students are working with the Forest Service to build fences and bridges on nearby campgrounds.

In the spring Steve’s Natural Resources students will compete in “The Envirothon,”  competition that involves water quality testing and forestry, among other subjects.

Steve Kem is one of the leaders in hands-on education at BFCS.
