Terri Olsen - Special Preparation K - 12

If you want your child to read, just spend some time with this inspirational teacher and former Pet Store owner. Terri grew up on a rural farm with five brothers and sisters and dreamed of being a veterinarian. But her proud and hardworking Italian father was illiterate and that changed her life. “Dad worked super hard,  but he struggled to find a job. I remember when he was a truck driver and one of us would have to go along to read road signs.” Seeing what education could bring to one’s life led Terri into a new career. “If dad could have read, our lives would have been so much easier.” That experience motivated Terri to spend her career in special education focused on reading. She worked in Rogue River and Grants Pass before joining the Butte Falls team. She is eager to share the ten indicators of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and explain how everyone is different and needs special attention.  PREPARATION: Bachelors from California State University, Chico 1982, Masters from Southern Oregon University 1997.
