Butte Falls School District/Butte Falls Charter School 2022 

English/Language Arts Instructional Materials Recommendation.

We are pleased to present to our community and our School Board the English/Language Arts materials our teachers recommend for adoption and purchase by our School District for grades Kindergarten through Eight. Next year we will consider materials for English/Language Arts materials for grades 9-12.

Our teachers have spent many hours reviewing the various options available and approved by the Oregon Department of Education. The consensus recommendation is a K-8 curriculum published this year (2022) by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Learning Technology.

We recommend adopting and purchasing Into Reading for grades K-5. While the series also provides materials for grade 6, we recommend adopting and purchasing the complementary Grade 6-8 series Into Literature to strengthen our middle school instruction.
